Fun at Glenfeshie
Throughout this spring our head chef, Greig will be plying his private chef skills down at North Shots, a photographic tour company based out of the stunning Glenfeshie, part of the Cairngorms, near Aviemore in the Highlands. The challenge for this project has been to create hearty meals for the photographers who will be spending all day out in the winery mountains, whilst keeping to a pretty tight budget!
Greig’s top tips for keeping to a budget are… its all about the prep, really consider your numbers, not over ordering or over cooking as waste food is a budget blower!! Single pot recipes like stews and chillies are often a good way to go, especially in winter. You can use cheaper cuts of meat and bulk out dishes with lots of tasty root veg that are in season and full of carbs to keep you fuelled up through a cold winters day!! Or leave the meat out completely!! Using pulses and lentils adds protein and texture but are considerably cheaper and your vegan and veggie friends will love you!

Glenfeshie is one of the most beautiful parts of all the cairngorms and North Shots base is right in the centre of it all… the views from the “office” are pretty great!!
